Position Full sun, rich well draining soil/compost. Pot or ground. Over winter in bright frost free place or mulch rootstock well.
Conditions

Prefers ample moisture, but doesn't like being waterlogged. Feed fortnightly with a dilute organic tomato feed once flowering has started.

This annual to shrubby perennial from the lowlands of Ecuador has spiny stems and leaves and can grow to 1.5m. Its beautiful purple flowers become unusual large orange nipple shaped fruit, 5-8cm long and 3-5cm in diameter.
