Can be grown as a foliage houseplant and is also a very successful
shade-tolerant garden plant. Best grown against walls and in
sheltered corners. Hardy perennial but frosts can injure the
leaves, but the plant will recover if the roots are safe from
freezing. The shrubby bush tends to be wider than tall, with large
leaves creating a sub-tropical canopy effect. |
